Who doesn't love a big and green Christmas tree?
Especially when you are a rabbit who loves to eat it 😋
Dansk version:
English version:
This day offered fresh fir, snacks and some cold weather. Spruce is a must for Molly and Sandy at Christmas, because if there's anything that makes the Christmas spirit, it's the smell (and taste) of fresh fir. They got a Christmas tree, which was put in the running yard. It wasn't quite a small Christmas tree this year. The rabbits were well satisfied because it meant that they could eat the branches and the small shoots of the Christmas tree and at the same time they could make small caves around the trunk of the tree. The Christmas tree was white fir while the other type of fir they were also allowed to deal with on this beautiful day. We brought some loose fir branches into their home, which were Norman firs, which they were particularly fond of eating. It was obviously a good variety of spruce. We also brought in large branches of white spruce, which were solely intended to function as caves, and they were also frequently used as hiding places, especially when it was cold and snowy. However, they also ended up gnawing a bit of it every now and then. Their Christmas tree was even decorated with nice red Christmas baubles and cute little reindeer and pine cones (which are edible for rabbits).
It was -6 degrees Celsius at the time when both Advent gifts and calendar gifts were given. In the morning Molly got her calendar gift, and today's surprise was a pile of delicious dried green hay, which was particularly popular among our fluffy friends.
When it was time for Advent gifts later that day, Molly was pleasantly surprised, because the gift was a small glass jar filled with carrot chips. It was crispy and smelled from a long distance. Molly immediately sniffed the smell and recognized it as soon as the package was placed in front of her, and she then started poking around and gnawing at the wrapping to get to the delicious snacks that were hidden inside. Molly and Sandy took turns dipping their snouts into the jar to fish out the dehydrated carrot chips. Sandy got her own Advent present after Molly. They are (often) allowed by each other to taste each other's gifts, but some things must not be shared to the same extent, and this is especially true when the rabbit who receives the gift likes it too much to share it.
