2nd Advents party
Hi everyone,
Then it was 2nd Advent and the Christmas mood continues. The days go by quickly but Christmas must be enjoyed with lots of presents so of course the rabbits must have that too. They did each receive their gifts which was dried pineapple and some dried stinging nettle leaves, respectively. Sandy was not so fond of stinging nettle leaves but Molly came and ate them when Sandy was gone for there should be no waste of food. Molly cleans up the remnants so it does not get damp and old. Molly also ate her pineapple pieces. It looked like they tasted good because she ate the rest of the pieces after she tasted the first one to see what it was now that I had put in her calendar today. There are different things in the calendar for each day so it will continue to be a surprise. Even though you have put the presents in the calendar, you have completely forgotten what the rabbits get when it is that day so it is as much a surprise for us humans as it is for the rabbits.
When they then had to unpack their Advent gift, they were really excited. They jumped around with zeal. They each ripped their gift up so that pieces of paper flew around everywhere 😅 They were so eager and they jumped around to grab the goodies that was inside the presents. Molly got some apple snacks which were in a small glass, which she was eager to shake out of the glass. It was homemade apple snacks that she got. Sandy got a bag of parsley treats that they also "fought" for. They did not really fight. They just both really wanted the treats so they went to attack the bag and the wrapping. They tumbled around each other to be the one lucky enough to grab a treat.
When we wanted to spread the Christmas spirit we also made sure to put on a Christmas hat and Christmas socks. Then we can be little elfs together. The rabbits actually also have a Christmas hat each, so they can easily join in.
On the occasion of Christmas, we have given the rabbits nicknames that suit them as little teasers, which they clearly are here at Christmas time. They have each been nicknamed Montus (Molly) and Sontus (Sandy). Just for fun. It's so nice here at Christmas time. We are constantly inventing something new to do with the rabbits. However, we also come up with ideas when it is not Christmas.
When we make salad for the rabbits we make little hearts out of the carrots. However, they do not get as much carrot so they do not get as many of them but the most important thing is that they are there. Here at Christmas time they need to have Christmas hearts. It is said that Christmas is the feast of hearts so hearts fit perfectly in this context. They also ate the little carrot hearts first and then they eat the salad afterwards. It's both fun to do and nice to see them get happy with it. It's nice to see their reaction when we give the rabbits something or if we give them some fun and different gifts or do some new things with them.
