Poisonous plants and how rabbits identify them

How rabbits react to poisonous plants There are many wild plants that are ideal for rabbits in the wild. But it is, after all, also where they live when they do not live in captivity by humans. The wild rabbits know which plants are poisonous and which are edible by their instincts but it can be a little difficult for domestic rabbits to distinguish the difference. The rabbits that live in captivity will usually avoid the dangerous and poisonous plants but if we as owners restrict the feeding, a problem arises as the rabbits can no longer decide for themselves what they want to eat. If you come to offer the domestic rabbits some poisonous plants with vegetables and other things, then it can be difficult for the rabbits to see and smell what it is and then you cannot count on them sorting it out themselves. It is therefore our task as owners of the rabbits to only offer them the plants that are good and nutritious for them and then sort out the poisonous ones from the edible ones.

Sleepover with the bunnies

A night full of fun This weekend became the evening for a spontaneous sleepover in the rabbits' run. And yes, the rabbit run is big enough to sleep a few people in there (about 21 km2). We had gone and played a bit with the idea before but Friday was the perfect day and night to make a sleepover in Sandy and Molly's home. However, this was not the first time we had tried to sleep with them. We did it a few years ago too but now it was time to do it again. And the weather was PERFECT so what more could you want? The heat wave was over us and it had been 29 degrees that day but the temperature dropped all the way down to 13 degrees at night but it did not matter as the rabbits warmed our hearts. The sky was starry, the wind had died down and the last birds were chirping in the distance. Nice quiet night. Molly and Sandy also welcomed us really well when we started moving in with them with all our stuff. It was not like they got angry and wanted us out of their homes again. No, o

A binkying bunny is a happy bunny

My rabbit makes funny jumps  What is a binky? A binky is when the rabbit jumps up in the air and turns the body a bit. This can be done in many different ways, so there is not one particular hop that is a binky. Sometimes the rabbit jumps up in the air and strikes out with both hind legs to the side or runs at full speed, jumping up into the air and doing a twist. Why do rabbits make binkies? The rabbit simply makes this hilarious hop of pure zeal and joy. It is happy and content to be alive. When the rabbit makes a binky, it shows you that it is happy and that you have done something right as a rabbit owner. If you have seen this, then you have witnessed the rabbit's joy, as it shows by this very clear sign in the body language. Usually, the body language of rabbits is not at all as clear as when they are happy in this way. Times when the rabbit makes binkies There is no definite time that the rabbit makes more binkies than others, but it is more often seen that rabbits that are p
